Who we are

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Zebtech Ltd trading as Glossarum. "You" means anyone reading this website. "The site" means glossarum.co.uk and every page on it.

What using the site means

If you use the site, these terms apply. If you do not accept them, stop reading and close the page. That is the whole of the bargain.

We may change these terms. The version number and date at the top of this page tell you which text is current. A change applies from the moment it appears here. It does not reach backwards.

What this site is, and is not

The site describes one service: a fixed-fee written assessment of how far one legal entity is from the standard it will have to meet to be authorised under the UK cryptoasset regime.

It is an invitation to talk to us. It is not an offer capable of acceptance. Reading the site forms no contract, reserves no capacity, and creates no relationship between us. Nor does emailing us. A relationship starts when both sides sign an engagement letter, and not before.

Nothing here is advice

Glossarum is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nothing on this site is regulated advice. Nothing on it is legal advice. Nothing on it is an offer of a regulated service, and nothing on it is a financial promotion.

The site describes rules that apply to other firms. It does not tell you what to do about them. Do not act on anything here without taking your own advice from someone qualified to give it, and do not treat a page that describes a deadline as confirmation that the deadline applies to you.

The same limits are set out at length on the home page, under The limits are the product. They are there because they are the product, not because a lawyer asked for them.

Accuracy, and how we cite

Every regulatory date and figure on this site is drawn from a public document, and the link to that document sits at the point we state it. The home page ends with a register giving each source and the date we read it. Check them. That is what they are for.

Rules change and public pages move. We state the date a page was issued so that you can judge how fresh it is. We do not undertake to keep every page current, and we do not undertake to tell you when something on it stops being true. A source register is a record of what we read and when, not a warranty that it still says the same thing today.

Any work we do is under a separate letter

Fees, scope, timing, deliverables, liability for the work, confidentiality and data protection in an engagement are governed by a written engagement letter and the master terms attached to it. Those documents are agreed before work starts.

Nothing on this site varies them, adds to them, or overrides them. Where this site and an engagement letter say different things, the engagement letter wins. A fee band on a web page is an indication of range. It is not a quotation and it does not bind either of us.

What you may do with the content

Everything on this site is ours, or used with permission: the words, the page design, the identity, the mark and the typographic system. The typefaces themselves are third-party faces, used under their own licences.

You may read the site. You may print or save a page for your own use, or to show a colleague. You may quote a short passage, so long as you say it came from Glossarum and link to the page you took it from. You may link to any page here, from anywhere, without asking.

You may not republish a substantial part of the site as your own, present our material as somebody else's work, or strip our name off it. Search engines are welcome to crawl and index the site, which is what our robots.txt says.

Sites we link to

We link out to the FCA, to legislation.gov.uk and to other public sources so that you can read the rule rather than take our word for it. Those sites are not ours. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what they say, whether they work, or what they do with your data when you get there.

A link is a citation. It is not an endorsement and it is not a statement that the linked page still says what it said when we read it.

Availability, and the limits on our liability

We do not promise that the site will be available, uninterrupted or free of error. We may change it, take pages down, or withdraw it entirely, without notice.

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude every warranty, condition and term that would otherwise be implied into your use of it.

We are not liable to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, loss of an opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything on it. If you use this site in the course of a business, that exclusion applies in full.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.

Liability for work we actually do for a client is not dealt with here at all. It is dealt with in the engagement letter, for the reason clause 06 above gives.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy notice. The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and tracks nobody, and the only personal data we process is what you choose to send us by email.

Governing law

These terms and any dispute arising out of them, including a non-contractual one, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
